The Dexter's Doggy Daycare Dictionary

Ever wondered what your dog is really saying at daycare?

We've put together the Dexter's Doggy Daycare Dictionary to help translate some of the phrases you might hear from our four-legged friends! 😂

🗣️“I'm not tired!”

Translation: I am absolutely exhausted, but I'2m having too much fun to admit it.

Usually followed by falling asleep approximately 30 seconds later.

🧸 “It's not mine.”

Translation: I found it, therefore it belongs to me.

This applies to toys, balls, towels, beds and occasionally things that definitely aren't toys.

🛋️“That's my bed.”

Translation: I don't care that another dog was sleeping there first.

Bonus points if the other dog is still technically in it.

💤 “I don't need a nap.”

Translation: I desperately need a nap.02

The classic daycare contradiction.

🐕 “We're best friends!”

Translation: We've known each other for approximately seven minutes and I love you

Dog friendships move FAST.

🥹 “I'm just saying hello.”

Translation: HELLO! HELLO! HELLO! HELLO!

Some dogs are simply very enthusiastic greeters.

🦴 “I wasn't doing anything.”

Translation: I was absolutely doing something but look how cute I am. Accompanied by suspiciously innocent eyes.

🎾 “One more throw!”

Translation: You will throw this ball until your arm falls off.

And even then, they'll probably bring it back.

🚪 “Are we going somewhere?”

Translation: I heard a door. I saw a lead. I have connected the dots.

There is no escape from the excitement.

🥰 “I'm just going to sit here.”1

Translation: On your lap.

Regardless of whether there is actually room.

😴“I'm ready to go home.”

Translation: I have had the BEST day. Please carry me to the car.

📖 The most important word in the Dexters dictionary… “Fun!”

Because whether they're running around with their friends, having a sniff, learning something new, enjoying some enrichment or simply having a cosy nap, every dog gets to enjoy their day in their own way at Dexters. 💙🐾
